The role of the Ambulance Care Assistant involves the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences.

This is a responsible role which requires a professional and caring attitude and teamwork.

The role of the Ambulance Care Assistant involves the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences.

This is a responsible role which requires a professional and caring attitude and teamwork.


We can offer you clinical training to standards that allow you to be competent as a 'First Person On Scene', patient transport driver training, and a full uniform.

Every day is different as an ACA and you could really make a difference to our patients.


You would need to be available to attend a training course on a full time basis over a period of 15 workings days (start date to be confirmed).

The course may be run from two training centres. You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.

Relief working is on a rota pattern planned 6 weeks ahead and can include a mixture of days, lates and nights, you must be able to commit to working the hours and be flexible.


Unsocial hours pay:


Enhancements are paid as a percentage on top of basic salary and will be paid for unsocial hours worked on a Saturday (midnight to midnight) and on weekdays between 8pm and 6am.

For Example:

All time on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any week day after 8 pm and before 6 am = Time plus 35% (roughly £14 per hour)
All time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight) = Time plus 69% (c. £17 per hour).
