The Organisation:


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

To provide administrative support in the planning and delivery of our highly successful on-campus pre-applicant open days, applicant days and student shadowing opportunities

including:

  • Keeping spreadsheets of room bookings, venues and materials being used for recruitment events and data entry.
  • Liaise with Digital Content to ensure all 3rd party websites have our correct open day dates displayed.
  • Administration of documentation such as Travel Bursaries for open days and applicant days.
  • Managing Student Shadowing queries
To support in the administration of all applicant interviews across all three faculties

where an interview, audition or portfolio showing are pre-requisites for entry


including:

  • Attendance at interviews to register interviewees and answer any queries
  • Liaise with Timetabling to ensure appropriate rooms are available for interviews, raise any issues with SR Manager (Events and Applicant Experience) in regard to lack of capacity.
  • Creation and running of telecentres to book remind people to book onto interviews
  • Creation of attendance registers for interviews
  • Backup management of the interview inbox
To represent the University by visiting schools and sixth forms encouraging and promoting the advantages of Higher Education.

To support the planning and delivery of our postgraduate recruitment events

To capture participant feedback at events to feed into the tracking and evaluation process.

To assist in the delivery of the University's summer schools.

To provide support at key recruitment events such as attending HE fairs such as UCAS and UK Uni Search.

To support in the delivery of on campus recruitment events such as Individual Tours

Undertake staff development as appropriate and work flexibly to support student recruitment.

Any other tasks the Student Recruitment Manager (Events and Applicant Experience) deems necessary.


Special Circumstances:


  • A flexible approach to working will be required, including weekends and
evenings.

  • This role will involve UK travel and overnight stays
  • It is desirable not compulsory for the post holder to have a full UK clean driving license
  • This role requires enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
clearance.

Qualifications and Professional Memberships:


  • Educated to Degree Level or appropriate level of experience within a similar role

Knowledge and Experience:


  • Experience of working within and a comprehensive knowledge of Higher Education.
  • Experience of working within a student recruitment or related function.
  • Knowledge of the UCAS cycle
  • Experience of delivering outstanding presentations and workshops to post
  • 16 age students within schools and colleges.
  • Experience of teacher liaison and networking.
  • Experience of managing competing priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable IT skills, including a proven ability to use a variety of Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibly, in a busy environment
  • Deal with conflict and overcome difficulties
  • Evidence of a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies when working with children and vulnerable adults

Desirable

Qualifications and Professional Memberships:


  • Teaching or IAG qualification.

Knowledge and Experience:


  • Experience of working with academic colleagues
  • Understanding of marketing activity
