Train Presentation Operative - Train Cleaning

Split Shift Role - Earlies & Lates

Based in Brighton

1 x 6-month initial contract with the opportunity to join on a permanent basis.

£12.80p/h


We are working with the largest UK Train Operating Company (currently posting revenues of over £8.9Billion the last seven years), who are seeking to recruit a Cleaner to join the Train Presentation team based in their Brighton depot.

They are looking for someone with a 'go getter' attitude who isn't afraid to get stuck in.


The Role:

The role itself will consist of all aspects of train presentation duties. This can include exterior cleaning, interior cleaning, hoovering the floors, inspecting/maintaining toilets, etc.


Hours wise, it is a split shift earlies & lates role, which consists of working one week on earlies - 6am-1pm, before switching to lates which will be 1pm-8pm.

You will work 5 days a week on a Sunday - Saturday roster, so flexibility to work weekends is required.

You will be looking after the Southern/Thameslink trains fleet which serve the Surrey & Sussex areas.

Your role is mainly interior cleaning focused, but here and there you will have to do some basic exterior work also.

There is one cleaner per 3 or 4 carriages, meaning you will be working in a team of 4 at most times.


The depot itself is relatively big in its presence with a requirement to be physically fit to move around the depot with no restrictions.


The Company:


The company covers the South East, Greater London & East Anglia areas - this includes Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, London & Hertfordshire.

As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains - 516 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy with your role


Remuneration & Benefits:

This rail company has on offer the following for contract staff:

  • £12.80p/h rate
  • this will rise to £13.23 after your first 12 weeks
  • Overtime is available at the Manager's discretion

  • Our client is hiring into their business on a permanent basis after an initial phase on a 6month contract.

Requirements:


  • Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
  • Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
  • Happy to help mentality/attitude
  • A decent fitness is needed as the role will involve a decent bit of walking, so please keep this in mind when applying
  • Flexibility to work weekends
