The Role


As a Compliance Officer, you'll play a big role in supporting the wider Risk, Compliance and Quality team in ensuring our framework and operating model is fit for purpose.

The role reports into the Risk, Compliance and Quality Director for the Property & Asset Management (PAM) within the JLL Real Estate business line.


You'll be joining a versatile and dynamic team who are responsible for ensuring PAM operates to the highest standards possible with a focus on delivering industry leading management of their client's properties, contributing to the Centre of Excellence and maintaining strong relationships with each service line within PAM.


The right individual should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and used to prioritising multiple projects at any one time, at ease with challenging the 'normal' for the purpose of achieving higher standards.


As a Compliance Officer, you will create purpose and impact, influencing senior management on areas for improvement; inspiring and coaching colleagues within PAM to achieve and maintain higher standards.


Whilst it's preferential applicants have some experience of the real estate sector; it's not a determining factor in the selection process.

Role Purpose


To improve the efficiency of current working practices within Property & Asset Management (PAM) through the documentation, review and auditing of processes & procedures in place to ensure compliance with, RICS Client Money Rules, PAM best practice and ISAE 3402 controls.

To assist in developing and delivering training, responding to business requests for investigations, process reviews and managing the annual ISAE 3402 audit and reporting process.

What this job involves
Responsible for the planning, executing and reporting on audits across various areas of the business, ensuring that risks and controls are assessed; providing both informal and formal feedback
Support the ISAE 3402 controls assurance report process
Carry out process reviews, systems reviews, risk assessments and participate in special assignments as they arise
Promote strong risk management and compliance across teams
Support with the assessment of risks and the impact of those risks on existing processes and proposed amendments to processes
Follow-up on agreed actions with the business to ensure they are implemented as expected and in line with the agreed requirements / risks

At ease with accounting and business processes as well as auditing concepts and practices
Knowledge and understanding of internal control frameworks
Able to critically assess processes, identify strengths and weaknesses and recommend improvements to achieve compliance with ISAE 3402 and RICS Client Money Rules or equivalent
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with senior management and with clients and staff at all levels
Adaptability and determination are key personal attributes, and you will be encouraged to look for innovative solutions to any problems you may encounter
Able to work independently, producing professional deliverables on time, managing several tasks at one time
Have a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering a better service, therefore should be self-motivated, pro-active and willing to take on tasks and duties commensurate with the role
Should possess excellent organisation skills, and should be systematic and logical in approach to work
Have excellent oral and report writing skills to document findings and proposed recommendations that represent a sensible proposition
Excellent IT literacy including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint. This is a pivotal role in helping the organisation achieve its corporate goals through the provision of independent and objective reviews and training
