Customer Service Advisor
Station Road, Banbury OX16 5AB
£ £15.62 per hour
Full-time, Permanent Position

This position entails working on a 3 week rotating roster. 7 hr shifts

We are currently looking for new members for a team of railway station staff based at Banbury Station. Your job role will involve dealing with customers and carrying out duties throughout the station.


Typical tasks could include:


  • Checking tickets and operating gates.
  • Making sure that passengers get on and off the train safely.
  • Carrying out Winter weather treatments, gritting, clearing snow & ice etc.
  • Helping to load and unload luggage.
  • Signalling the guard or driver to depart.
  • Updating message displays showing passenger information.
  • Ensuring the safety of members of the public, other staff and yourself at all times.
  • Assisting in evacuations when / if required.
  • Providing information to customers on services, routes, train times and delays.

Experience & skills required:


  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing.
  • Flexibility to carry out a variety of tasks at any time as requested.
  • Good customer service skills and ensure the best customer experience possible is provided to each and every person that enters the station.
  • Be able to work well as part of a team and use your own initiative when working unsupervised.
  • Be open to working additional or different hours to contribute to the smooth operation of the station.
  • Provide a highly visible and professional appearance at all times.
