An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathology Department at Bradford Royal Infirmary/ Airedale General Hospital for a Biomedical Support Worker who will be trained to work within our Specimen Reception area, providing support to the Blood Sciences laboratory.


We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and conscientious individual who has a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic.

Team working and good communication skills are essential. Previous laboratory experience would be an advantage for the position however full training will be provided. Basic IT skills would also be an advantage.


Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT), Airedale NHS Foundation Trust (ANHSFT) and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) have formed a joint venture, Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP (IPS) to provide a high-quality diagnostic and consultative service to clinical service users of both Hospital Trusts, and to primary and secondary care providers within the locality.


The hours of work are based on a 24/7 work pattern which will include days, late shifts and night working Monday to Friday, Weekends, and Bank Holidays.


Opportunities for personal development are strongly supported; however please note this post may not be suitable for individuals with Biomedical Science degrees as there is
no progression to Biomedical Scientist grade .
