ROLE:
Purchase Ledger Assistant
REPORTS TO:
Purchase Ledger Supervisor
DEPARTMENT:
Finance
LOCATION:
Exeter
PURPOSE:
- To perform general day to day accounting tasks to support primarily the Accounts Payable Team.
- To ensure an excellent service is provided at all times to other departments within the organisation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Matching and processing high volumes of supplier invoices using accounting systems
- Ensuring accurate use of nominal codes in line with company's procedures
- Liaising with Colleagues at other sites in the UK to ensure that goods are receipted in a timely manner so that month end deadlines are met.
- Ensuring that invoices are checked for accuracy and VAT compliance
- Ensuring supplier records are kept up to date, accurate and in line with company policy
- Regular reconciliation of supplier statements
- Ability to communicate with suppliers on a daily basis about various queries
- Ensuring that purchase order rules and procedures are adhered to by suppliers and internal departments
- Managing disputes with both suppliers and internal departments to ensure quick resolution
- Recording information and updating paperwork and spreadsheets
- Answering and rerouting of incoming calls as appropriate using Teams
- Other adhoc tasks as & when required
SUCCESS MEASURES
- Achieved reporting/input/reconciliation targets and deadlines
- Accurate supplier accounts
- Meet all KPI's
SKILLS + EXPERIENCE
- Previous Experience in a similar role preferred
- Good IT skills including previous experience of Microsoft Excel
- A selfmotivated individual with a positive and friendly attitude to work
- Be able to work on own initiative but as part of a team
- Well organised, able to prioritise and manage multi tasks simultaneously
- Experience of CIS and the construction industry an advantage

Job Types:

Salary:
Up to £24,000.00 per year
