Job Introduction
Working as part of the Shafts West Team (West Ruislip) reporting to the Package Manager, you shall be responsible for the front line preparation, delivery and close out of works packages, working on the Night Shift.
Role Responsibility
The specific role duties include the following:
- Actively input into SoS coordination on each shift
- Attend and actively engage with the SoS brief at the start of the shift
- Attend the Point of Work briefing for the works that they are supervising a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Where authorised, raise permits for signoff and brief to Responsible Person
- Undertake weekly Targeted Risk Monitoring Inspections for your area of works
- Manage Safe Systems of Work, including but limited to:
- Organise/Attend/Record HAZID prior to works on site.
- Developing SSOW for approval
- Maintaining records and registers
- Briefing supervisors, reviewing briefings on site.
- Checking compliance to SSOW, including relevance of SSOW to the works on site.
- Checking compliance to JV and statutory requirements.
- Monitor environmental controls in line prescribed procedures and statutory requirements including but not limited to noise, vibration, water, waste, and dust.
- Ensure compliance with U&A that you are briefed on.
- Familiarise yourself withrelevant DH specifications and related national standards and relevant industry guidance, ensuring that relevant controls are developed into Quality Assurance documentation and implemented on site.

- Actively engage with the subcontract package manager and subcontractor to proactively identify requirements to facilitate works on site and ensure that these are in place. Escalate where pre work requirements cannot be closed
- Support the Package Managers in resolving issues identified at the Last Planner meetings relevant to your works.
- Attend Package Manager briefing of weekly programme objectives
- Support the foreman in developing the SOS for the next day, including Aphex geospatial planning.
- Degree or equivalent in civil / Environmental engineering or similar
- Prior experience in Civil engineering / Infrastructure projects especially experience in construction of reinforced concrete structures.
- Relevant CSCS Card
