We are looking for an experiencedCompliance officerwith a strong financial background to join our global clients business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible person for ensuring the business meets its compliance obligations.
- You will be an expert in FCA market regulation with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the FCA Handbook, as well as other insurance regulations.
- Directing the company in requirements specific to the insurance market, ensuring compliance with policies, legislation, standards and guidance, and ensuring that all regulatory and environmental risks are identified.
- You will also be responsible for ensuring conformity to all applicable laws, regulations and standards across the business and within various industries; including GDPR and OFCOM requirements.
- Champion compliance at all levels; monitoring, directing and driving compliance performance for contracts within the insurance sector; liaising with clients and relevant stakeholders to facilitate performance updates and convey issues and opportunities.
- Guide and support projects and operations to ensure their sound knowledge and understanding of compliance requirements.
- Support and build key relationships with industry stakeholders.
- Provide consultation and support to the wider UK business in relation to all relevant compliance requirements, legislation and standards.
- Assist with the development and review of operational policies and processes to ensure they remain aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential areas of risk and understand the relevant rules and guidance, be able to translate these rules and guidance into compliant business practices.
- Develop robust programs to document, monitor, and report on compliance issues and outcomes;
- Develop and manage a structured framework to assess and manage change.
- Support the Head of UK Compliance and the Head of Legal to deliver a compliance framework including the delivery of Compliance policies, training and governance.
- Manage operational compliance issues and queries.
- Lead the implementation of key regulatory changes, ensuring understanding and effective implementation across the business.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Experience in a similar role.
- Preferably an understanding of business process outsourcing.
- A deep understanding of all aspects of the FCA markets and the challenges currently faced.
- A proven ability to interpret regulatory requirements and communicate them to operational teams in an understandable and digestible manner.
- Extremely selfmotivated and able to operate independently, and influence key stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels to promote a compliance culture.
- A proven track record on successfully implementing regulatory change.
- The flexibility to work in a fastpaced environment and the desire to challenge the status quo.
- Good organisational skills and able to prioritise workloads.
- Able to foster strong working relationships with staff and senior management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Conscientious, reliable and selfmotivated.
- Helpful and approachable, sensitive to confidentiality issues.
