OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
Responsible for achieving and exceling operational standards in relation to People, Product, Process, Plant and Performance throughout their department.


KEY RESPONSIBILIITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

People:


  • Organise and supervise a trained and motivated shift team with committed, multiskilled and flexible colleagues.
  • Operate flexibly and respond quickly to change and opportunities actively demonstrate the capacity to get into action fast and make things happen.
  • Ensure that you operate within the costed and allocated labour resource at all times in order to meet capacity/customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate a positive, cando attitude with a strong emphasis on performance, agility, resourcefulness, being innovation friendly, quality and safety.
  • Support and manage direct reports; acknowledging and escalating both good and poor performance when necessary.
  • Facilitate the development and training of colleagues in order to meet operational needs, together with the objectives of continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs and implement timely and effectively training plans to address any gaps.
  • Support the growth and engagement of colleagues through performance development reviews, succession planning and effective communication.
  • Assist in resolving staffing issues including holiday, disciplinary and grievance ensuring all HR and Ethical policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that all team members pursue safe working practices and compliance with all accident and reporting procedures.
  • Be a positive role model, setting the standards for behaviour and company compliance.

Product:


  • Have a strong working relationship with all other site departments to optimise products:
  • Drive a right first time approach.
  • Attend taste panels if required to review products and ensure constructive feedback.
  • Investigate any raw material over usage and resolve.

Process:


  • Follow the daily plan and make sure it is delivered in the correct order, on time and in full
  • Collect and understand KPIs, share key highlights and trends with direct reports.
  • Ensure that planned outputs and performance efficiencies are consistently achieved in line with KPI requirements and standards.
  • Identify cost savings, efficiency, quality, GMP improvements. Proactively recognise weak spots and manage changes.
  • Routinely check all aspects of the product process and documentation to ensure products are following the appropriate path whilst information/data is recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work with all other site departments on any process improvements that can be made:
  • Actively involve yourself in customer visits through your area, positively engage with them and be proud of your department demonstrating your passion for their product

Plant

  • Take accountability for all departmental production, ensuring that plant throughput rates are met to achieve the required production targets to meet customer service levels whilst maintaining the integrity of the product.
  • Maintain high GMP standards through visible leadership engaging your team to drive standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is being used for the intended purpose and is good working order ensure all SOPs are in place and are followed.
  • Highlight any machinery defects as soon as they are noticed and work effectively with engineering to resolve issues. Hold your team to account on how the equipment is used and cared for.
  • Take responsibility for the full compliance and support of all environmental, health and safety requirements and reporting
  • Support all PPM schedules to enable all machinery to be serviced and to be in the best working order

£27,500.00 per year
