Project Support Officer:
Building Information Management (BIM) to join our expanding Strategic Estates team.

We are looking for talented people who have a passion for supporting the NHS and local health services; as well as a desire to learn how to enhance the digital management of estates and facilities services.


Offered either as a formal Apprenticeship, or a junior development role with training, this newly created post will help to support the delivery of our new Building Information Management (BIM) Project across all 3 RCHT hospital sites, and for all the major building projects being developed at RCHT, including the Trust's flagship project for the next decade - the new Women and Children's Hospital.


Over the next 10 years, and beyond, health services in Cornwall will undergo major transformation, and our exciting plans to enhance and renew our physical environment for the delivery of healthcare will be at the forefront of this change.

The Project Support Officer will have a key role in supporting the Building Information Management (BIM) Project Manager in delivering the BIM project, and in keeping relevant databases and project documentation up to date.

They will also work closely with the external management consultancy providing guidance to the project.

To be successful you must be capable of managing a varied and pressurised workload, in a highly changeable environment.

You should also be confident in working with a wide variety of people, including senior managers, clinical staff, and other external stakeholders, on complex or high-profile issues, as required.

Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.

To analyse information, produce reports working with complex and sensitive data and contribute to projects in a timely and accurate manner to help facilitate decision-making and business strategy development under the direction of the BIM Project Manager, and Head of Hospital Reconfiguration

To consult with a wide range of people at all levels of organisations to facilitate the obtaining, maintenance, and use of data across a diverse range of databases


To work in conjunction with the BIM Project Manager, and Head of Hospital Reconfiguration and other relevant staff to produce monthly BIM Project reports for senior management review.

Extract and present information from Trust systems in accordance with ad hoc as well as routine information inquiries

Ensure that all work targets, robust data collection and validation systems are in place across the BIM Project.


Function as an ambassador for the Strategic Estates Team in respect of the BIM Project and promote the team's wider projects, services, and achievements in a positive manner.


Undertake annual mandatory training, and ad hoc training, as required in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and the Trust's policies.

Participate in an annual Individual Performance Review and working towards training and development objectives as agreed with the line manager

Demonstrate effective communication skills.

This includes developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders as required by the BIM Project.

The post holder must work to adhere always to Trust values and behaviours.

Always act responsibly in respect of the health, safety, and welfare of others in the workplace. This includes following safe working practices and complying with the Trust's Health and Safety policies.

Attend Departmental and project meetings, as required.


Adhere to all Trust policies as applicable, and undertake any other duties requested as appropriate to the seniority of the post.
