Our Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG's major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally. Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries support AIG's businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics and performance measurement. They collaborate with Marketing, Operations and Financial Management.
About the role
What you need to know:
- The aerospace actuary will be responsible for supporting the global aerospace business, providing pricing analysis, insight and performance monitoring
- Providing the global aerospace business with the actuarial support they require to profitably grow their business; help identify opportunities and strategies to achieve the business plan
- Large account pricing to provide robust, best estimate pricing on our largest and most complex clients
- Support the delivery of the aerospace rating tool transformation plan a key deliverable over the next two years
- Ensure rating tools are kept up to date with latest assumptions and inline with expected performance. Perform rate reviews where required
- Develop and manage detailed portfolio MI across geographies and products
- Ensure data used for pricing and monitoring is complete, accurate, adequate and timely.
- Responsible for training and mentoring junior members of staff
- Comply with key regulatory and risk management procedures
- Take responsibility for own, taking opportunities to improve both technical and softer skill
What we are looking for:
- Nearly or newly qualified member of an Actuarial Institute
- Demonstrable insurance experience
- Experience in aerospace or specialty lines of business preferred
- Proven proficiency in actuarial pricing concepts/methodologies
- Increasing understanding of general insurance including underwriting policies, claims handling policies and local legislation
- Knowledge of PC and mainframe environments
- Coding experience desirable
- Developing ability to communicate actuarial concepts to nonspecialists.
- Ability to forge relationships with other areas of the business
- Ability to work under own initiative and show flexibility to meet business needs
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise own work
