Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Exmouth team. We are looking for 1 full time worker for 16-18 year olds living in semi-independent supported housing.

Shift pattern: 12 hours shifts required including days, evenings and sleep ins. (sleep ins paid at £62.04 rate for 8 hours)

Full time: 2x 12 hour day shifts and 2 x 12 hour evening/ sleep in shifts over an 8 day rolling rota (2 days on, 2 days off, 2 sleep-in nights on, 2 days off)

Some weekend and bank holiday work will be required.

On call cover is also expected as part of job role, on average 3 times per month with additional payments for on call starting at £20 for evening £40 for a weekend day/bank holiday.

Overtime pay at £15 per hour


Annual Salary:
£21, £21,809.56 Pro rata (50% for part time contract) dependent on qualifications (£11.55 hourly rate for NVQ qualified staff on completion of probation period, £11.13 hourly rate while working towards NVQ). Enhancements for bank holidays and overtime.


Responsibilities include:

Lone working with 16-18 year olds (looked after children) living in supported accommodation.

Supporting young people to develop independent skills such as cooking, budgeting and attending appointments in preparation for living independently post 18

Supporting young people to set and achieve their life goals, reach their full potential and plan for their future.

This will involve motivating young people to engage with education/ employment/ voluntary work, accessing leisure activities, health services, mental health services and other social care services.

Providing emotional support, guidance around healthy relationships and supporting young people to build/ maintain positive relationships with their families

Completing recordings and daily reports

Compliance with company's safeguarding procedures and polices

Positive behaviour support & Managing challenging behaviour


Desirable experience:

Previous experience working with Young People in a paid or voluntary capacity desirable but not essential for the right person


Essential
Car driver, must have at least 1 years experience in driving. We will provide you with a vehicle to use while at work. Successful applicant to undertake enhanced DBS check (paid for by employer)
