Job Description Summary:
The NTI manager leads the NTI team in developing new and improved products for GI HVDC.

Based on industry trends, develops new products to meet the needs of the company's target markets as reflected in the Solution Portfolio.

The NTI Manager;
- owns the R&D roadmap and ensures it is synchronized with the Solution Portfolio
- uses creative abilities and research methods to improve existing products
- manages product testing and trials, assessing the materials used, the efficiency of the process, and the effectiveness of the final product.
- budgets and forecasts new developments and research plans


Roles and Responsibilities
The NTI manager;
- cooperates closely with the Solution Owners to create the technology vision which is the foundation of the Solution Portfolio
- develops the skills of the team to meet current and future needs to deliver the R&D roadmap
- delivers the NPI/NTI project within the time, cost and scope plan
- implements and perfects processes and tools to deliver NTI projects without waste
- creates and maintain the budget for the department
- builds and maintains relationships with universities
- maintains and creates connections with internal and external partners
- drives Supply Chain Management active involvement in delivering the R&D roadmap
- keeps up to date with the trends in the market, customer feedback, academia etc
- creates a cost and customer mindset in the team
- maintains the technical governance of the NTI delivery
- actively drives the creation of IP to ensure that the company maintains a competitive and profitable IP portfolio


Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Engineering with demonstrated track record of successfully leading R&D teams
  • Creative mind, able to think outside the box
  • Documented problem solving skills
  • Result driven with proven project management skills
  • Solid business acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across different levels/disciplines
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong cando attitude and energy level
  • Familiarity with GE processes and metrics
  • Demonstrated experience working with crossfunctional teams, such as engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, commercial etc.
