Packing Operatives (x2)

Rochester, Kent

Salary £20,725.38 per annum, £600 (Twilight allowance, £50 p/m)

Monday to Friday

Rotating shift pattern, week 1 6 am-2 pm, week 2 2 pm-10 pm

37.5 hours per week


Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Rochester, Kent, is seeking dedicated Packing Operatives to join their dynamic production team.


As a Packing Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely packing and palletization of finished goods, maintaining machinery cleanliness, waste removal, and providing support to machine operators as needed.

Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will contribute to our operational excellence.


Responsibilities for the role of Packing Operatives

  • Efficiently pack and palletize goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery and cleared production lines of waste.
  • Perform stretch wrapping and assist in machine filling of packing materials.
  • Thoroughly inspect finished goods for adherence to quality standards.
  • Safely move goods using appropriate aids.
  • Maintain optimal efficiency levels while upholding product quality.
  • Prioritize safety for oneself and others at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing quality, efficiency, safety, and waste reduction.
  • Assist in training others and identify personal training needs.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience required for Packing Operatives

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment or on a factory packing line.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Relevant qualifications in food manufacturing.
  • Experience with pallet wrapping and factory machinery operation.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Keen attention to detail to uphold quality standards.
  • Effective adherence to management instructions and proactive work during downtime.
  • Awareness of health and safety protocols.
  • Willingness to work alternative shift patterns to support teammates as needed.
  • Strong team player.
  • Eagerness to acquire new skills as required.
