The role
As an Information Assurance Supply Chain Security Officer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

This role provides Cyber Security and Information Assurance across the supply chain and within their assigned projects areas and is therefore responsible for providing the relevant information in fulfilling our obligations in relation to DefStan Cyber Security for Defence Suppliers and DEFCON 658 (Cyber).

Day to day, you'll:

Implement BMS documentation (process, procedures, guidance etc.) in relation to the business activity relevant to your role in a timely manner.
Identify, assess and where needed escalate risks as a result of supplier audit activity with the relevant stakeholders.
Manage, implement and maintain an effective rolling programme of risk based supply chain assessments in agreement with project/contract managers.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with our supplier base through effective communication and collaborative working relationships.
Review a supplier where any reportable incident or pattern of incidents occurs to understand any route cause or improvements that can be made to remedy the situation
Provide a balanced approach to security through Supply Chain security measures that incorporate applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Essential experience of the Information Assurance Supply Chain Security Officer,

Comprehensive understanding of DefStan and wider defence related regulations applicable to the contracts
Understanding/Knowledge of Security Aspects Letters and their purpose
Previous relevant experience in an Information Assurance/Security/Legal or Supply Chain role within the Defence, or similar regulated industry.
Experienced in Information Risk Management Processes
Regulation and Governance interpretation
Good awareness/knowledge in relation to ICT systems and their operation

This role provides hybrid working with at least one day per week on site.
