How will you make an impact?
Under the general supervision of the Procurement Manager, the Sr.

buyer primary responsibility will be handling the day to day materials planning and placement of purchase orders for the assigned commodities within both SAP and CODA systems.

The person will also support cost reduction strategies, purchase agreements, new source identification and selection, and lead supplier relationships.

This position works closely with Operations, Planning and Facilities to facilitate and implement cost reduction projects by demonstrating other internal business units and sourcing to optimally drive cost out of the supply chain.

There will be solid training for you to learn to drive clinical trial & commercial procurement. There is enough space for taking improvement actions and support in MRP and SAP development. We offer flexibility in working schemes. Apart from that there is room for personal growth, upskilling and training. You will be part of a team of 4 and in close cooperation with our site in Basel.

  • Ensure all SAP processes are efficient and that they reflect best practices in both Horsham and Basel.
  • Use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure that the Customers' production schedule is adhered to and inventory is kept to a minimum.
  • Understands and communicates component specifications to suppliers.
  • Locate, evaluate and select suppliers and potential suppliers to gain the best quality, cost and delivery of purchased material consistent with required standards.
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data and establish facts i.e. Review procurement history and usage to settle safety stocks.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently towards defined goals, maintain procurement goals at highest level. Attention to detail is a must.
  • Lead metrics to monitor overall success and efficiency of procurement performance.
  • Strong customer service focus to improve happiness, demonstrate judgment, tact and subtlety in dealing with internal and external customers.

Education

  • MCIPS qualification would be of preference.

Experience

  • 5 years Purchasing experience in a SAP environment
  • Sophisticated PC skills, with emphasis on spreadsheet skills and 5 years ERP/MRP experience.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization.
  • Able to drive continuous improvement in both nonoperational and operational areas, including connecting the crossfunctional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams.
