Reports to:
Credit union board


Responsible for:
Credit union strategic and operational leadership


Location:
Derby, with occasional travel within the East Midlands, and very occasionally the rest of the UK.


Role Summary:


The CEO is the senior staff member of the credit union, and is accountable to the board for strategic and operational leadership and for implementation of the strategic plan. The CEO will set the tone for the organisational culture, reflecting the values and objectives of the credit union.

Key responsibilities:


To provide operational and strategic leadership of the credit union, and deliver the strategic plan as agreed with the board

To be responsible for the successful operation, growth and development of the credit union.

To have overall responsibility for compliance with all the regulatory and financial controls in relation to the operation of the credit union.

To promote, develop and deliver the credit union's business plans, operational plans, products, and services to ensure delivery of desirable, high quality services to our members, whilst achieving continuous improvements to member services.

To provide strategic, operational and financial management of the business, focussing on business development, financial accounting, credit control, resource management and people management.

To be responsible for the management and development of the people working for the credit union, including the recruitment, training and retention of paid staff and credit union volunteers.

To maintain effective working relationships with the board of directors, other stakeholders and credit unions and to provide support to those parties when required. Recognising that the credit union is a member-owned co-operative, to foster good relationships with all members - savers and borrowers alike - and to help all members feel that they are part of the credit union, and not just a

'customer'

Strategic leadership:

  • Maintenance of full regulatory compliance, (P.R.A., F.C.A. and credit union regulations)

  • Interface with legal and other advisory services where business needs require
  • Willing and able to become the registered Senior Manager and Money Laundering Reporting Officer with the Financial Co
