We are Systematix and we are looking for a QA Tester for one of our key clientele in Reading UK.


ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Quality Assurance (QA) Tester will be responsible for manual testing, and/or developing automated tests, reviewing system requirements and tracking QA metrics to take corrective measures to ensure successful product launches and changes.


ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews test procedures and develops test scripts
  • Executes test cases under varying circumstances
  • Evaluates, documents, and communicates test results
  • Detects, logs, and reports program bugs and glitches
  • Tracks defects and helps troubleshoot errors
  • Partners with engineers to drive QA efforts
  • Create or execute comprehensive test cases and plans
  • Develop, design and deliver automation scripts using opensource tools
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years' experience in software quality assurance
  • Sound knowledge of software test automation
  • Familiarity with Cypress framework would be a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Handson experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Handson experience with automated testing tools
  • Solid knowledge of basic SQL scripting (e.g., SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY)
  • Relevant postsecondary degree or commensurate experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with team members and liaise with developers, business analysts, and product managers.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a 6-month contract role to be performed in the Reading, UK office.
There is a strong intent to transition to a permanent role if both parties are amenable or contract extension.
