An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit to Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust.

This is for a Band 3 post to support our friendly Education Team to deliver mandatory training, medical device training and fit testing.

Main duties of the job

Ensure the highest standards of training are delivered within NUH theatres and in collaboration with theatre education team. Support the implementation and maintenance of the mandatory training, medical device training. Facilitate fit testing clinics within NUH Theatres and the Acute Directorate as and when required.

Provide advice and support to theatre teams and foster a learning culture which values high quality safe patient care.

Work in partnership with the education team, Matron, theatre/recovery/EPOC teams to ensure multi-disciplinary teamwork in achieving agreed, common goals / outcomes across theatres and recovery to deliver the Trusts mandatory training objectives.


You will be required to work closely with the existing education team structure and demonstrate the skills to be able to work alone and deliver training to meet targets set within the directorate and the wider organisation.

The successful applicant will have a high level of self-management skills including time management, prioritisation and organisation

You will need to demonstrate the ability to be able to work flexibly in diverse clinical environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role. You will need to demonstrate being competent with a number of ICT systems.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person with an interest in education and training.

Communicate effectively to ensure that the training programmes from efficiently and escalate any issues or incidents appropriately and in a timely manner.

Sound knowledge of health and safety and governance within the theatre/recovery/EPOC setting.

Create a training delivery and fit testing service that encourages flexible team working.

Identify and minimise interpersonal conflicts that may affect team or individual performance, seeking advice and support from the Education Lead, ICP, Matron and/or Lead Practitioner for Theatres
