Communications ManagerMedia and PR, joining a growing Medical/Health Charity based in West London. Offering Hybrid working pattern of both office based and homeworking.


You will join the Communications and Engagement Department, who ensures the charities brand is enhanced amongst the public in the UK, with the goal of raising awareness and motivating people to register as donors and/or support work in other ways such asraising funds, volunteering etc.


As the Communications Manager, reporting to the Head of Communications and Engagement, your role is to raise awareness of the cause by gathering, writing and sharing content across traditional and digital media including social media.


Key areas of responsibilityacross Media Relations and PR:

  • Play a key role in managing media relations, securing national and regional online, print, and broadcast coverage.
  • Researching key media targets, developing media lists and pitching ideas and stories to media.
  • Build relationships with journalists to ensure the charity is the goto charity for comments, information and stories.
  • Receive and respond to media enquiries, flagging to the Head of Communications and Engagement, and advise / brief spokespeople on media opportunities.
  • Play a key PR role in supporting communications and campaigns activities.
  • Monitor the daily news agenda to identify opportunities to act on and share with colleagues
  • Devise content, including press releases, feature articles and statements, covering work, including donor recruitment, fundraising and healthcare engagement activities.
  • Work with colleagues to source case studies (patients, families, donors and fundraisers) to bring to life stories for media and PR purposes.
  • Work with Social Media Officer and website colleagues to provide content for a range of PR activities.
  • Develop, draft and deliver content for the quarterly external enewsletter for registered donors.


We are looking for an experienced Media Relations, PR, Press specialist, with working knowledge of the UK on and offline media landscape.

Gathering, writing and sharing content across traditional and digital media including social media. Experience of targetingspecific audiences in a B2C and B2B environment. Experience of creating and distributing a range of content including personal stories, international and scientific content in multiple formats.
