    HGV Technician Role

    We are currently recruiting for an HGV technician to join our established garage team. As an HGV Technician, you will perform routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and customer service standards. Your daily responsibilities include:

    • Maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles (primarily DAF) and trailers according to DVSA standards.
    • Conducting road tests.
    • Performing roadside repairs on own fleet vehicles and trailers.
    • Carrying out planned routine maintenance on own fleet and third-party fleets.
    • Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections.
    • Assisting with re-chassis work and light fabrication tasks.
    • Keeping track of scheduled maintenance records to ensure compliance with our Operator's Licence.
    • Providing out-of-hours breakdown cover for our fleet vehicles.
    • Participating in relevant training and assessments.
    • Supporting and adhering to our company's Health and Safety procedures and standards.

    Please note that you may be required to undertake other duties similar to these as reasonably requested by your line manager.

    Working Hours

    We operate a 4-on-4-off shift pattern.

    Required Skills and Experience

    We are looking for candidates with a time-served motor vehicle technician background, having achieved appropriate City and Guilds/NVQ/IRTEC qualifications. This role presents an excellent opportunity for skilled or semi-skilled HGV Technicians seeking their next challenge.

    A valid HGV driving license is desirable but not essential.
