As one of our People Partners you will become a trusted peer, building relationships with leaders and colleagues within your function, to drive strong business results within Saga ensuring all leaders have the skills and knowledge to achieve exceptional colleague experience.


You will be skilled in your field, a natural relationship builder who is able to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Using regular scrutiny of data to identify trends and hotspots you'll work with the business to providing proactive people solutions.

Reporting to the People Partnership lead, this broad role will allow you to drive continuous improvement for our colleagues, allowing them to provide exceptional experiences for our customers.


At Saga we work flexibly which means our colleagues have autonomy over where they work - at home or hybrid.

This role has a small hybrid element which means that our team come together when we need to collaborate.

Main Responsibilities
As one of our People Partners you will be proactively partnering leaders on casework within their operational area. This will include more complex and sensitive cases including serious conduct and capability matters, through effective coaching.


Other accountabilities would include:

  • Treating people in a way that supports our culture
  • Supporting the on and offboarding experience
  • Following Saga values and always acting with integrity and due diligence
  • Skilled in complex problem solving, delving beyond the most obvious issue, to understand the true issue and impact, being curious and testing others thinking to establish facts
  • Act as a trusted peer by building relationships with leaders and colleagues within my function, to drive strong business results within Saga ensuring all leaders have the skills and knowledge to achieve exceptional colleague experience
  • Encouraging a culture of continuous feedback providing ER advice and supporting the performance cycle.
  • Minimising legal and settlement costs by providing sound advice, coaching and support around all ER issues
  • Maintain and adhere to SLAs for the People Partners inbox, ensuring all queries are responded to in the agreed timeframes
  • Ensure colleagues are supported and receive correspondence in a timely manner
  • Maintain colleague data relating to ER matters and ensure all people related systems are updated timely with accurate information
  • Look for opportunities to simplify processes, drive efficiency and output.
Knowledge of current employment law and experience in a people partnering or employee relations role is essential. Experience has been in a regulated business that would be of extra advantage.
Other skills and experience required include

  • Confident and able to conduct difficult and sensitive conversations with leaders and colleagues.
  • Able to manage assigned case load and prioritise tasks.
  • Respects the importance of colleague experience.
  • Effective relationship management.
  • Able to deliver upskill training to leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of ER procedures
  • Partnering experience
  • A natural curiosity to look beyond the 'as is' and explore new trends and opportunities
