Description

Our client is a leading global supplier of highly reliable temperature, speed and pressure engine and aircraft sensors to OEMs and airlines in commercial, military, aero derivative and industrial markets.

On their behalf, we are seeking a Manufacturing Operatorto join their small but friendly team based at a small manufacturing facility in Waltham Cross.


Reporting to the Group Leader, the primary purpose of the role will be to set and operate machines and equipment within the general component manufacturing, mould and power press areas to produce parts and assemblies which conform to required quality specificationsand specified rate of output.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate relevant production machines and equipment
  • Manufacture subassemblies and top level product to required quality and output standards
  • Carry out first off and inprocess inspection using appropriate calibrated inspection equipment to ensure conformity to specification
  • Checking to ensure parts and assemblies are manufactured to the correct revision status
  • Ensure all relevant production paperwork has been completed correctly and stamped in accordance with relevant quality procedures
  • To ensure any document and process errors are raised in a timely fashion to Supervision
  • Contribute to continuous improvement techniques to improve output, quality and deliver
  • Maintain tidy work areas and safeworking practices at all times
  • Provide adequate training as required.
  • Other duties, as delegated, discussed and agreed with the Cell Leader

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

  • Experience of working in a small/medium batch size mechanical environment including drilling, tapping, compression moulding, pressing of small components
  • Experience of working in a small/medium batch size electro/mechanical or electronics assembly environment.
  • Able to solder to IPC
  • J-STD001 standard, training is available
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Experience in resistance welding, handbrazing, encapsulation, coil winding, spraying & silk screen printing would be an advantage, although not essential
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
