The Marketing and Communications team at DMU is growing, and this newly created role will be a key member of the Directorate's senior leadership team.


The Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising brand and creative development; design and print services; corporate and student recruitment marketing campaigns; CRM and conversion campaigns; facultymarketing and recruitment; reputation management; media relations; internal and external communications engagement; events; schools and colleges engagement; Widening Participation; enquiry management and follow up; web and digital development and market insight.


The Head of Engagement Communications will lead strategic communications across all the key university audiences, including staff, prospective and current students, and external stakeholders.

Leading the Engagement Communications team, you will develop anddeliver highly effective and innovative campaigns, using a range of media, and all aligned with the university's strategic ambitions.

This will include supporting internal transformation and delivering creative engagement to promote a positive student experience.
The Head of Engagement Communications will also head up the university's already sector-leading social media strategy and delivery.


To be successful, you will have a demonstrable track record of delivering cutting-edge communication campaigns to influence a wide range of audiences.

With a background of leading and managing high-performing communications teams and a proven ability toinfluence and persuade at all levels within an organisation, you will have knowledge of communications strategies, concepts and practices and excellent track record of achievement across a wide range of projects and campaigns.


Additionally, you will have a demonstrable understanding of using a range of media and tactics to effectively engage audiences as well as an awareness of the rapidly changing higher-education environment.
