The Role:
The Global Record to Report Lead will be part of a vital and collaborative team that will require a significant amount of shared services skills to change and streamline accounting systems and processes, as well as control and manage the general accounting function.
While the role will initially be focused on the organizations North American business, the role will evolve into a Global role, driving standardisation, efficiency and improvements in processes and controls in support of the organisations strategic goal of scalability.
Duties:
- Responsible for maintaining US, Federal and Canada ledgers and financial statements.
- Responsible for closing monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements.
- Responsible for tax, corporate, survey, internal and external audit requests.
- Responsible for proper internal controls over business and accounting processes.
- Responsible for compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and internal policies and regulations.
- Lead the Record to Report, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams.
- Develop and ERP and systems skills within the teams.
- Improve, streamline and automate the monthly accounting close process globally.
- Must be able to multitask and support multiple business unit and complex organization structure.
- Exercise strong teamwork, communications and collaborative skills.
- Drive team performance in line with agreed KPI's to measure the effectiveness of the Record to Report and Accounts Payable processes
- Responsible for all account reconciliations of all ledgers.
- Responsible for accurate P&L's and manual schedules required on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- To lead globally for all jurisdictions' financial statements and reporting obligations over time, with appropriate resourcing
Requirements:
- A track record of delivering process and controls simplification, standardisation, automation and improvement
- Experience leading in a process focused environment such as Shared Services or Outsourcing
- Familiarity with process management disciplines such as Lean Six Sigma
- A minimum of 5 years post qualified experience with a focus on robust internal controls
- Experience in leading multiple teams
- Capable planning and analysis skills, with ability to develop standardised MI to meet internal customer's requirements.
- A change leader with a strong teamworking ethos, with a sense of pace and urgency.
- Advanced excel and ERP systems experience a must.
