Hill Group is an award-winning 5-star housebuilder, creating a range of beautiful homes across London, the South East and South West.


We are looking for a Bid Writer to join our busy and proactive New Business team, based in Waltham Abbey, Essex.

Your primary role as a Bid Writer will be to write exemplary qualitative responses to secure new opportunities for the Company in line with the business plan.


Key responsibilities:

Health & Safety

  • To be aware of the Company's adopted policies taking particular care to outline the necessary information as well as our performance to potential partners/clients.
Delivery

  • Ensure timely information is produced for qualitative submissions including SQs and ITTs.
  • Complete bid launch presentations, delivering these where required.
  • Provide exemplary qualitative answers for SQs and tenders where required and liaise with preconstruction and regional teams.
  • Carry out quality client research.
  • Filing of excellent responses into the submission library.
  • Improving existing material in the submission library.
Presentation

  • Write case studies for new projects and those with upcoming events and keep up to date.
  • Write and maintain CVs for new staff/current staff.
  • Assist in preparation of pre and posttender interviews.
Financial

  • To ensure that any financial information issued is accurate and up to date.
People Management

  • Work closely with preconstruction team and regional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information is submitted.
  • Liaise with Marketing Coordinator to arrange photos required for case studies and CVs.
General

  • To promote the Company as the partner of choice to potential partners, clients, landowners and their agents.
  • To possess a cando attitude and have the ability to provide high quality, succinct information in plain English to assist in the selection of the Company as preferred partner/bidder.
  • Undertake other ad hoc duties as and when required.
  • Adobe InDesign experience is highly desirable.
  • Produce final documentation for submission.
  • Plan and chase contributors to submissions.
  • Structure submission documents.

Skills & Experience:


  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines concurrently.
  • Experience as a Bid Writer in a housebuilding company is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in the wider construction industry is desirable.
  • Experience bidding for opportunities with local authorities and housing associations is desirable.
  • Excellent, accurate written English.
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas persuasively and succinctly.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to secure timely, accurate and relevant support from colleagues to answer questions.
