Purchasing Assistant Required In CV11




FIXED SHIFTS:
8am - 4.45pm (Mon-Thurs) & 8am pm Fri = 37.5 hours paid


£ £35000 per annum depending on experience

The Role:


  • To update the system with leadtimes min & max order points as things change
  • To maintain accurate supplier information on the system including contact details, pricing & part numbers.
  • To identify supply chain issues in advance by maintaining constant supplier contact
  • Setting up of bought out stock codes as required
  • Raise and issue purchase orders and chase for acknowledgement as required
  • Chase live purchase orders into the site chase weekly over 6 weeks from delivery date, twice weekly 26 weeks from delivery date and then daily below 2 weeks to minimise risk of surprises/delays.
  • Chase Demmler orders, book in, run delivery notes & invoice orders.
  • Chase up all import documents for inbound imported purchases and update import register
  • Arrange transport as required to/from outside processors eg: Foam Techniques, Regal, Chemi Blackening, Brical goods to be delivered and collected as required.
  • Monitor suppliers for compliance with supplier agreements and escalate noncompliance issues.
  • Manage inventory levels to support the production plan and closely monitor stock of key parts onsite and at key suppliers' sites.
  • Perform cost implosions for updated BOMs.
  • Update purchasing database highlighting cost changes monthly
  • Provide data for an effective supplier rating system to be developed
  • Organise intercompany stock transfers as required to support sales and/or the production plan.
  • Report monthly upon inventory levels highlighting differences to previous month.
  • Return of goods ensure any defective parts are notified to the supplier and quarantined and/or returned to the supplier for thorough investigation as per the quality system.
  • To maintain parts shortages sheets to highlight any current/potential issues.
  • To attend the daily production meeting.

The Person:


  • A good level of education is required
  • Driving license
  • FLT licence desirable but not essential
  • Purchasing qualification is desirable
  • Will be selfmotivated and a quick learner
  • Good Attitude
  • 6 months minumum purchasing experience
