Our client is a leading estate agency and has the widest reach with lots of branches in the Southeast. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Lettings Accountant to join their busy office in Horsham.


You will be managing a team of 5, therefore, you will ideally have at least 5 years' lettings accounts experience and have a proven track record of successfully managing a team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of
  • Ensuring congruence of Lettings department (CPC) & finance
  • Assisting in efficiencies of acquisitions
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Handson to balance the department when needed
  • Ensuring compliance with the RICS regulations for handling company money
  • Setting KPIs for recognition & rewards
  • Preparing banking, checking statements, posting receipts and checking payments
  • Processing credit/debit card payments
  • Processing supplier and other agent invoices
  • Preparing landlord statements
  • Processing new tenancy and renewal transactions
  • Releasing tenant deposits
  • Making quarterly and annual returns to the HMRC for commercial landlords
  • NRL 6 reports
  • Raising manual invoices.

Personal specification:

  • Previous experience with lettings 5 yrs + (essential).
  • Good Excel skills (pivots/vlookups)
  • ARLA qualified
  • Ability to manage and develop strong client relationships and provide excellent client service
  • Flexible and able to work under pressure, multitask and effectively prioritise
  • Organised and able to work to detail and to deadlines
The salary package for this role will be in the region of £45,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This is an office-based role.
