Gemserv's Data Privacy team offers the right individual the opportunity to work with a varied range of clients and to make a difference.

Gemserv is a B-Corp and many of the projects you will be working on are socially beneficial.

The successful applicant will support their Lead Consultant on each project to help our clients understand and manage their data protection risks.

We also offer opportunities to get involved in other activities, such as serving on company-wide committees like the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, writing blogs on interesting topics and promoting our services at industry events.


We are looking for an individual who already has some experience of working in data protection and is looking to build a career in data privacy.

The right person will be a self-starter who is comfortable working with our Lead Consultants to manage their own diary in order to meet their commitments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support our Lead Consultants to deliver client projects
  • Produce written reports and responses to help clients understand their responsibilities and comply with their obligations in respect of data protection and privacy in response to specific questions;
  • Work with clients to create and maintain documentation using Gemserv's templates and approach including:
  • Policies and procedures
  • Privacy notices
  • Records of Processing Activities
  • Data protection schedules within contracts with third parties
  • Data and process maps
  • Carry out assessments following Gemserv's approach including:
  • Data protection gap analyses
  • Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • International transfer impact assessments
  • Cookie assessments
  • Supporting clients with queries submitted through our ticketing system including:
  • Ad hoc queries about privacy and data protection issues
  • Researching news and writing blogs for the monthly client newsletter
  • Starting to support the business development team in the development of sales proposals and bids;
  • Agree an area of specialist interest with the Head of Data Privacy, create blogs and other thought leadership materials around your specialist area and work with people across Gemserv in your specialism.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven working experience (minimum 1 year) within data protection;
  • CIPP/E or similar qualification;
  • Practical experience using Microsoft Office;
  • Experience of using privacy tools such as OneTrust an advantage;
  • Aware of key data protection legislation, particularly GDPR, DPDI, PECR and ePrivacy;
  • French language skills may be an advantage as our parent company is French.
