Your new role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highways Inspector to join the Highways Team on a full time and permanent basis.
As a Highways Inspector, you will undertake highway condition safety inspections, identifying defects in accordance with stated guidelines and organising appropriate remedial works, recording information collected and action taken.
You will identify defects in any street furniture and road markings and inform the appropriate person or organisation for further action.
You will inspect Statutory Undertakers' Works in accordance with the provisions of the New Roads and Street Act 1991, the Highways Act 1980, and other statute.
You will also initiate and serve defect notices as required and to justify for remedial works for those responsible for the defect.
This post is offered on a hybrid working pattern (combination of site visits and office).
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, professional Qualification or at least 2 years' experience in a Highways / Street Works Inspection related field is essential.

- Highways Act 1980
You will need to able to demonstrate a knowledge of the safety implications of working on the highway and be able to identify with the requirements of Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
