Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities. To provide comprehensive assessment of mental health specific to the needs of service area. To have experience of and specialist knowledge on interventions to be able to lead in clinical area. To work in partnership with other agencies to gain the best person-centred outcome for the individual.


To be able to communicate with and meet the needs of families and carers as appropriate to the care group and individual client.

To ensure appropriate records of assessment and treatment are regularly maintained which adhere to professional guidelines, Trust Policy and recognised systems within the Locality Team.

To manage a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs and undertake case management/lead professional/as needed.

To participate in all clinical, business and service meetings as appropriate, to contribute to effective team functioning, service delivery and development.


To provide professional leadership within the service, working with Team Managers and Service Manager for the planning and delivering of team practice within the mental health teams and wider service delivery.

To develop and participate in the delivery of a clinical supervision structure for team members.

To use knowledge of practice development principles and strategies for the promotion of quality developments and efficient use of resource.

Promote and use evidence-based approaches to improve practice.
Critically evaluates and applies research findings pertinent to patient care, team management and outcomes.
