The role


The Key is looking for a person with exceptional writing skills who can deliver at pace, to join us as a digital content writer for our market-leading support services.

As a digital content writer you will research, write and maintain practical and engaging content of exceptional quality to meet the needs of school leaders.

You'll quickly develop specialist knowledge of the education sector through expert research.


You will:

  • Research and write about a range of topics, combining rigorous desk research with trustworthy external sources, internal expertise and user research
  • Produce content in varied forms, according to our content roadmap, and in response to questions from school leaders, following agreed deadlines on time and in full
  • Develop and maintain specialised sector knowledge, and use this knowledge to make sure content is kept up to date, as well as to spot opportunities to create new resources
  • Respond to incoming questions from our members, and use these insights into what education leaders need to determine when to write new content
  • Use qualitative and quantitative feedback and insights (including user research) to adapt our content, so we can provide the most practical and actionable information and resources possible

The ideal person

You will have:

  • Firstclass research and writing skills, evidenced by 2+ years of writing experience
  • Strong editorial judgement and decisionmaking
  • A track record in delivering highquality work to deadlines
  • A creative spark and a strong commercial awareness in spotting opportunities for highimpact content across a range of formats
  • A strong focus on professional learning

It would be nice if you:

  • Have an interest in and, ideally, experience of the education sector
  • Have a proven ability to seek out highquality sources and information
  • Have experience creating digital content in a variety of formats
  • Are able to collate and respond to findings, usage trends and user feedback
  • Have good teamworking skills and a proactive, positive attitude
