£24,266 per annum based on a 36-hour working week, across 42 weeks per year, pro-rata to £26,080.

Our innovative and supportive school-based Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service are now looking to welcome a Senior Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join the team working in North West Surrey.
From the day you start, you will have the full support and direction of a Therapist, but also be part of our brilliant network of SLT Assistants, who meet regularly for learning, development and peer support.
Our Service
The school-aged SLT service is part of Surrey's local SEND offer, working collaboratively with the Inclusion and Additional Needs Team and other areas like Educational Psychology and Specialist Teaching.
Our aim is to deliver the right support at the right time through assessment and intervention; equipping families and professionals with the skills and resources to work together to help support children with SLCN.
We work with children and young people with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans) and those at SEN (Special Education Needs) following Surrey's Graduated Response.
Your Role
This is a great opportunity to work across schools in Surrey.
Although the position is predominantly mainstream based, there is the potential for working in a special school or specialist centre for one or two days per week, depending on service needs and your experience.
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you can expect your days to be very varied; working both individually with a young person or in small groups.
Modelling strategies to teachers and making resources for the Therapy team will all be part of day's work, as will providing peer support and shadowing opportunities to less experienced SLTAs.
You'll also have the opportunity to get stuck in to project workHere are the qualities, skills and experiences we are looking for in our Senior Speech and Language Therapy Assistant:
- Two years' experience of working with children and young people as a SLT Assistant as part of a Speech and Language Therapy Team, either within mainstream or specialist schools and centres
- Ability to work independently and flexibly
- Knowledge of communication strategies and approaches used in Speech and Language Therapy

Additional Information
An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
