We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our Pharmacy Distribution and Omnicell team. You will work closely with the rest of the pharmacy distribution team, rotating between pharmacy distribution and Omnicell.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Managing the topup rota
  • Receive deliveries
  • Process ad hoc stock requests from wards and departments.
  • Ensure the Emergency Drug Cupboard is stocked appropriately
  • Undertake regular expiry date checks and ensuring good stock control is maintained.
  • Train and supervise rotational staff within pharmacy stores
  • To have a full understanding of the automated dispensing system (ROBOT) and participate in the daily maintenance schedule and troubleshooting, including adding Drugs to the Robot Database.
  • Liaising with the Pharmacy porter Assistant to arrange delivery of stock to wards and departments
  • Work effectively as part of a team
The position is rotational, your time will be split in three blocks rotating between

Pharmacy Distribution and Omnicell IT support, managing the Omnicell Automated Drug Cabinets.

You will spend two out of three rotations in Stores and Distribution and one rotation supporting Omnicell Automated Drug Cabinets (ADC).


To work in pharmacy stores and distribution receiving and checking pharmacy orders, undertaking ward top-up duties, and general stores work, including Emergency Drug Cupboard (EDC) stock management, medical gas cylinder management, stock counts and rotation.

To participate in the maintenance and storage of medicines in Omnicell ADC in clinical locations across the Trust.


To assist the Pharmacy System Manager in basic maintenance, support and reporting from Pharmacy IT software including Omnicell and the JAC Pharmacy Stock Control System.

To ensure that infection prevention and control (IPC) is an integral part of service delivery.


Must be qualified to NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services OR willing to undertake and achieve specified Units of NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification within an agreed timescale.
