Role Overview

:

You'll be working within our busy outpatient department alongside a Primary Care Nurse and a small team of GP's to ensure the highest standards of care for our patients and their families

:

What you'll do

:

Working as part of the larger outpatient department you will be assisting the GP's and Primary Care Nurse with day to day outpatient procedures

:

- Phlebotomy / Venepuncture**:

- Provide high quality physical and psychological Care with Compassion**:

- Confidently and safely Communicate patients care needs**:

- Have the Courage to speak up and Commitment to be a patient advocate**:

- Assist with collection and transportation of specimens**:

- Escort patients for investigations**:

- Prepare and oversee clinic rooms as delegated**:

- Maintain up to date care records and observations charts**:

- Refer patients, relatives and colleagues queries to the appropriate staff**:

- Enter requests on the computer and assist the receptionist and nursing staff with any other clerical duties when required**:

- Assist with collection and transportation of specimens**:

- Escort patients for investigations**:

- Prepare and oversee clinic rooms as delegated**:

- Maintain up to date care records and observations charts**:

- Refer patients, relatives and colleagues queries to the appropriate staff**:

Who we're looking for?

:

A skilled Healthcare Assistant fully competent in phlebotomy/venepuncture with previous experience within a hospital or outpatient environment. You'll be able to demonstrate your exceptional communication skills with patients, their families and members of the multi-disciplinary team

:

- NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent/ Care Certificate**:

- Venepuncture skills/Phlebotomy skills**:

- BLS**:

- Experience in primary care, community nursing or outpatient setting**:

- Recognises priorities when problem solving and identifies deviations from the normal pattern and is able to refer to wider professionals or GPs when appropriate**:
