Empowering Learning is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEN provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of children with SEN.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide individual and group support to children with behavioural and emotional difficulties within the SEN provision.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities to meet the specific needs of each child.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Support students with their social skills and emotional regulation, helping them develop resilience and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports on student performance and behaviour.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children with behavioural and emotional difficulties, preferably within a SEN setting.
  • A strong understanding of various SEN conditions, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, attachment disorders, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience to support children through challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are preferred.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is essential.

Part-time hours: 30 per week


Salary:
£400.00-£500.00 per week
