We are a rapidly growing land and property development/investment company based in Lancashire.


As part of our growth, we are looking for an experienced and talented Senior Land Manager to head our Land department and become an integral part of our future expansion.

The Role


You will have overall responsibility for the land team with the objective of identifying, evaluating and securing land for residential development to support the company's development targets.

You will manage the land team comprising of Land negotiators,administrative staff and technical coordinators.


Principal duties of the Land Manager role include: -

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local authorities, local agents, land owners and other developers within the Division's geographical area
  • Conduct land appraisals in line with the company land appraisal system to determine the value of any potential development land.
  • Produce feasibility reports of development by collating build costs, market research, local planning policy and technical information to present to the Directors.
  • Successfully negotiate terms using a variety of purchase agreements including options, Joint ventures, Building licences, etc
  • Ensure effective working relationships are maintained between Land and other internal departments to ensure opportunities are maximised to assist with the land acquisition process.
  • Maintain and manage the regional land register/portfolio.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience of working as a Senior Land Buyer, Land Manager or high level property acquisition related role.
  • In depth knowledge and experience in strategic land identification, option agreements and JV contracts
  • Successful experience in land acquisition ideally within the housebuilding industry.
Qualifications and Training

  • Planning or Surveying Degree or equivalent
  • RICS or RTPI is desirable
  • Ideally from a planning consultancy background
  • Ability to travel to potential land opportunities and development sites on a regular basis.
