Job Description:


Main responsibilities:


Working closely with site leadership teams and reporting to the Regional EHS Manager, provide advice and guidance to the operational teams to ensure compliance with company management standards and applicable legislative requirements.


Duties:


  • Implement, and coordinate programmes to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and environmental Impact
  • Assist and support operational personnel in EHS risk assessment and implementation of effective control measures
  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team on legal compliance, best practice and industry standards
  • Stay updated with new developments in EHS policies, regulations and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with company management systems and ISO accreditations, ISO 14001, 45001 and 900
  • Attend and engage with customer EHS management
  • Lead and assist with incident investigation
  • Audits & Inspection
  • Plan and coordinate effective EHS meetings
  • Compile and evaluate incident statistics to identify trends to target risk reduction strategies, with periodic reporting to site and management team
  • Deliver in house EHS training programmes
  • Permit to work, Risk assessment and new starter inductions etc.
  • Assist in liaising with enforcing authorities
  • Drive positive culture and behavioural safety performance

Qualifications:


Education

Experience

  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment and/or highrisk environment

Interpersonal Skills

  • Act as a role model of Harsco values
  • Must be able to identify problems and then select the methods that will provide the best chance of solving them.
  • Able to function well in a fastpaced environment under demanding deadlines and changing priorities and conditions.
  • Organized with good attention to detail.
  • Maintain a handson approach the ability to build working relationships is vital to good knowledge of working practices, including industry standards and Best Practices.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data;
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner;
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions;
  • Ability to train people in an effective manner.

Technical Skills

  • Ideally, good presentation skills including the use of Company preferred IT programs including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Other Skills

  • The ability to work with minimum supervision and use initiative.
  • Must demonstrate the highest levels of integrity at all times.
  • Must hold a valid UK Driver's license
