Children & Young Person Worker (C&YP) Refuge

Full time - may include occasional weekend working - alternate Saturdays.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessment, safety plan and identify children's and family's needs and provide direct support to nonabusive parent
  • Advocate in statutory meetings and with other agencies, on behalf of survivor and children who have experienced domestic abuse
  • Work with children and nonabusive parent in a therapeutic and traumabased approach to help them reach their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate child and or family case files, sharing relevant information and reports with other agencies to work towards integrated assessment and service delivery.
  • Work in partnership with parents, either individually or in groups, to develop their parenting skills & confidence, improve selfesteem and encourage selfreflection.
  • Develop and maintain links with external agencies and actively contribute to relevant meetings as required.
  • Form an essential part of the day to day running of the children's service, facilitating age appropriate sessions for babies up to teenagers.
  • Liaise closely with the senior children's worker to arrange and facilitate external activities, including occasional over night stays.

Salary:
£22,422.40 per year
