ODE Asset Management is recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant on a full-time staff basis to be based in Great Yarmouth.


The Role:


  • Support the existing two warehouse personnel and the Warehouse Supervisor to receive, check, pack and ship equipment to our offshore installations by sea and air
  • To create shipping paperwork
  • To learn all company logistics procedures, undertake onthejob and formal training to develop experience and competence to be able to progress within the company

Scope of Responsibilities:


  • Receiving of materials and equipment deliveries into the Marine Base warehouse including checking of thirdparty delivery paperwork against physical deliveries and ODE's procurement system
  • Preparing goods ready for shipping by air and sea in accordance with regulations and company procedures
  • Raising of detailed commercial manifests for sea and airfreight
  • Driving company van for collections / deliveries
  • Maintenance and good housekeeping within the warehouse
  • Upkeep of both paper and electronic records
  • Adherence to ODE health, safety and environmental management procedures and warehouse operating procedures

Competencies & Soft Skills:


  • Ability to work safely in a busy warehouse environment
  • Willing to shadow department personnel, learn and develop, with progress in the Supply Chain Team being a desired outcome
  • Multitask and maintain organisational priorities and accuracy
  • Basic understanding of equipment shipping processes
  • Good written and confident verbal communication skills
  • Competent user of Microsoft Word and Excel and have some experience of databases (or ability to learn)

Safety and Environmental Related Tasks:


  • Compliance with all SHEQ rules
  • Input into SHEQ activities identifying improvements

Qualifications/Experience:


  • Good GCSE results and ideally completed further education
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office software (MS Word/ Excel) is required
  • Clean driving licence
  • Good communications skills.

Desirable:

No work experience needed although it would be desirable to have some experience in the workplace ideally in a warehouse / workshop environment, ideal experience would be:

  • Material handling
  • Forklift driver certificate
  • Experience of container packing procedures
