Counted Recruitment are currently recruiting a
Finance Business Partner for a great non-for-profit business based in
Birmingham. This role will see you play a crucial role in a fantastic finance team

Main duties of this
Finance Business Partner role include:

  • Ensure that the annual budget setting process is coordinated correctly for specific services in alliance with operational managers and group consolidation team
  • Ensure that financial performances are presented monthly along with budget variances and full year forecasts whilst also understanding financial risks and opportunities
  • Ensure that monthly reviews are conducted with operational managers and to act as a pivotal point of contact to support budget holders with capital and investment proposals along with commercial business
  • Question business managers on their business decisions about whether all concepts have been taken into consideration
  • Take into consideration if current ways of working are efficient and add value to the financial position of the company and the company as a whole
  • Suggest areas for cost savings and efficiency
  • Provide professional judgement on ways to improve business performance and matters regarding finance
  • Provide support to operational managers in negotiating fees for wider authorities and other funders
  • Work in conjunction with the contracts team so that annual inflationary uplifts are achieved
  • Examine how financial viable new projects and framework agreements are by working closely with business development and head of operations
  • Ensure that issues and operational challenges are dealt with by working closely with project teams and other stakeholders.
  • Have a strong understanding of what are cost drivers and issue insight to nonfinance colleagues
  • Always seek improvement to reporting/ledger structure by working with other senior finance colleagues and ensure that the wider team are taking full advantage of the finance system
  • Ensure that all services within the business are working within finance policies and regulations
  • Make sure statutory requirements, accounting standards financially comply with regulatory bodies
  • Ensure that any activities that detriment the financial objectives are reported to the Head of Finance and Finance Director
  • Act as a mentor to more junior colleagues ensuring they complete tasks correctly and in a timely manner
  • Work with wider finance colleagues with achieving all department objectives
  • Adhoc duties

Location / Office / Hours


Based in Birmingham, this business operates with a hybrid structure of 2 days in the office and 3 from home.
