Supervisor


Responsible to :
Manager/Registered Nurse

Responsibilities:


1.1 Receive and hand over reports at start and end of shift.


1.2 Using a holistic approach, act as Primary/Associate Nurse in planning, implementing and evaluating individualised programmes of care for residents.


1.3 Assist and carry out all aspects of care as appropriate to the individual resident.


1.4 Report abnormalities to Manager/Registered Nurse.


1.5 Administer drugs, treatments and therapies, as prescribed, in accordance with SSSC guidelines and local policies.


1.6 Supervise and delegate tasks, as appropriate, to Carers.


1.7 Act as mentor/role model to Carers.


1.8 Assist with admission, discharge and transfer procedures, as required.


1.9 Assist with emergency situations as and when they arise.


1.10 Liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate.


1.11 Undertake escort duties as and when required.


1.12 Be knowledgeable regarding the whereabouts of all residents at all times.


2.1 Be familiar with local, national policies, procedures and legislative bodies.


2.2 Attend and contribute to staff, relative and resident meetings as appropriate.


2.3 Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to all meetings as appropriate.


2.4 Ensure personal registration with SSSC is current.


2.5 Undertake such other reasonable requests as may be made from time to time to

suit the needs of the service.


Salary:
£12.20-£12.70 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Melrose: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- providing care: 1 year (preferred)

- supervisory: 1 year (required)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
