Job Purpose

To support handyperson within the group
To cover in the absence of the handyperson in the home
To carry out inductions of new handypersons
To carry out planned decorating in the groups care homes.
To carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the Care Home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.

Skills, knowledge and qualifications

Required:

General maintenance knowledge/experience e.g. minor electrical, plumbing, joinery
Good communication skills
Confident team player
Willingness to receive training on current Health & Safety/Fire/EHO issues
Satisfactory DBS check and check against the ISA list
Ability to work on own initiative

Desired:

Understanding of central heating systems, laundry equipment and hot and cold water systems
Knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations
Worked in a care environment previously
Clean driving license
Use of car or similar vehicle

Reporting to:
Home Manager and/or their designate

Salary:
£11.50 per hour
