Do you have experience in providing an effective high-quality support service to Council committees, other Member level bodies, appeal panels or partnership boards?


The Royal Borough's Committee Services Section is a small team responsible for the administration of the decision making and scrutiny processes of the Council, ensuring that they are open, transparent and fully accountable.

An understanding of the role of Councillors and the decision-making process in Local Government is required. Whilst not essential an ability to work in a 'political' environment is highly desirable.


You will need to demonstrate excellent administrative and communication skills, both verbal and written, good organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

The job also involves arranging and servicing school admission appeal hearings.

Therefore, experience of administration of, or active participation in meetings, including note taking and minute writing in a Local Authority or similar setting is essential.

Attendance at evening meetings is an essential part of the role.
