Substantive Posts

Post 1:
Part Time - 29 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday

(Wed & Thurs 08:4- 14:45, Fri 06:4- 14:45, Sat 08:1- 14:45, Sun 09:4- 14:45)

Post 2:
Part time 30 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 8:30 - 15:00

Band - Salary Range £23,362 - £25,368 per annum (pro rata)

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum (pro rata)

With a good level of basic education and good communication skills, you will need to be able to follow instructions so you can take part in the initial training and induction, which takes place when you start.

From there, your manager and colleagues will give you the support you need while you complete your on the job training.

Working from the kitchen at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick, duties will include serving food, washing up and cleaning, stock take & rotation and delivering catering supplies in the hospital.

The work you do in the Catering team will be essential to the smooth running of the Health Service in Shetland; you will be a valued member of the team and may have the opportunity to develop skills in other areas of the facilities team if you wish, such as domestic, catering or laundry.

Hours of work for this post will be day shifts on a rota system, with occasional early starts 8am. The latest finish time is 6pm and there will be occasional weekend absence cover.
