**Mechanical Design Engineer - Advanced EV Components- Andover £ Competitive**Our client is a worldleader in the design and manufacture of advanced power electronic systems for the flourishing EV market. They partner with highprofile prestige clients to deliver high performing and power dense power electronic components and assemblies.
Due to recent growth, our client is now seeking experienced mechanical designers to support a wide range of exciting automotive development projects.
As Mechanical Design Engineer - You will be required to
- Support the Electric Vehicles (EV) Engineering department, responsible for the design, development and manufacture of Power Electronic components and assemblies, including tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
- To lead earlystage product and process development in parallel with emerging technologies and configurations.
- To organise and lead engineers in production engineering manufacturing methods with handson build and testing of prototypes
- To define and manage product test and verification activity across full development lifecycle, including measurement analysis and reporting.
- To drive and maintain quality and to optimise engineering processes and practices for the manufacturing of products in line with company and international quality standards.
- To provide professional and technical expertise and support the EV team to support customers and supply chain to meet department and company objectives.
- Develop professional and personal skills through education, training and development within the team and externally
- You will*
- Be qualified to Degree level or equivalent as a minimum in mechanical, electrical or production engineering (2:1 or higher is preferred).
- Have extensive industry experience in a relevant discipline or high technology industry.
- Expert knowledge and proven implementation of CAD modelling and creating and checking detail drawings (Solidworks preferred).
- Experience of engineering manufacturing processes and their selection to meet product design requirements, be responsible for planning and prioritising personal and team workloads
- To lead concept and process development through the use of 'Design of Experiment', FMEAs and standard automotive quality practices.
- Lead investigations in root cause analysis (8D), using problemsolving techniques and implementing corrective actions.
- Represent EV engineering in maintaining quality standards ISO9001, IATF16949 and to drive continual improvement.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal and external stakeholders.
