I am currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Finance analyst to join a Global luxury Retail brand.

You will ideally have come from a Retail, FMCG or Hospitality background with multi-site experience and have been in a fairly commercial role.

Thisis a fantastic opportunity with great prospects.


Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this is a role to support the Finance team and wider business with weekly, monthly and annual reporting, budgeting and forecasting as well as commercial insight and analysis, enabling management to make key businessdecisions.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Weekly trade analysis for all business channels around Sales, Margin and Stock
  • Creation, improvement and maintenance of financial and trade reports
  • Detailed variance analysis and investigation, working with the wider business to ensure reporting and data is consistent across the teams
  • Partner with Merchandising to produce all weekly and monthly stock reconciliations. Support finance team with month end balance sheet reconciliations to Sun
  • Adhoc promotional sales analysis and reforecasting
  • Retail Partner; Act as the primary contact for all retail analysis and requests
  • Store by Store P&Ls, including channel analysis by:
  • Partner, Country, Market, Region
  • Set KPI targets and tracking for KPIs including: Footfall, Conversion, ASP, ATV
  • Support Merchandising with Retail stock analysis focused on availability and sales opportunities
  • Trials support retail to determine the basis of trials, selected and control sets Measurement and communication of results
  • Adhoc analysis tasks as required


  • Ecom Partner;

  • Monthly ecom analysis of sales by country
  • Adhoc analysis tasks as required
  • Overheads
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly overhead reports for all head office departments, preparing monthly accruals schedule for finance team to post at month end
  • Hold monthly budget review meetings with each department and set action plans
  • Build relationships with internal peer group to understand and forecast overhead costs
  • Set up new PO reporting and accruals process for month end
  • Understanding and reporting KPIs for Warehouse costs and efficiencies including preparing monthly review pack with commentary and supporting the wider team implementing any actions.
  • Produce and monitor total business capex budget at project level including being the finance representative for all projects and supporting with producing business cases where necessary
  • Group Reporting
  • PreparationofallTFG reporting including:
  • Monthly Sales analysis and commentary (flash)
  • Including sales recon to SUN
  • Budget, Quarterly Forecast and Bi-Annual reporting requirements including sales, territory, capex and debtor reporting
  • Consolidating data for quarterly insurance reporting
  • Manage and maintain the financial data cube in Cognos
  • Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager in preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for all of the above business areas
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly Board pack
  • Adhoc projects

Desired Skills and Experience:


  • Retail experience and experience of multisite operations is preferable
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting and stock systems such as Sage, Merret and Cognos is preferable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, investigates issues and seeks solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, communicates well with a nonfinancial audience
