Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Assistant to join our small business membership-based company.

As a Social Media Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing and enhancing our online presence across various social media platforms.

You will collaborate closely with the marketing team to create engaging content, increase brand awareness, and attract new members. This is also extended to our clients and customers.

This is an position suitable for individuals who have a passion for social media and want to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced business environment.


Responsibilities:


Social Media Management:

  • Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand visibility and attract new members.
  • Create and curate engaging content (text, images, videos) for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Schedule and publish posts on social media platforms using social media management tools.
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in social media marketing.

Content Creation:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas for social media campaigns.
  • Create visually appealing and compelling content, including graphics, images, videos, and infographics.
  • Write clear and engaging captions, headlines, and descriptions to accompany social media posts.

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with our online community, responding to comments, messages, and mentions to build strong relationships with our members.
  • Monitor discussions and trends related to our industry and share relevant information to increase engagement.
  • Identify and engage with influencers and partners to expand our reach and attract potential members.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Monitor social media analytics and generate reports on key performance metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates to the marketing team on social media performance and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience managing social media platforms for personal or professional use is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and their best practices.
  • Basic graphic design skills and knowledge of design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detailoriented and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of analytics and reporting.
  • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing principles is a plus.
  • Passion for social media trends and digital marketing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary:
£10.50-£11.00 per hour


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Birmingham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Social media marketing: 1 year (preferred)
