Description

To assist the Quality/ Governance Lead with the design & implementation of the Quality Management ISO 9001:2015 and associated IT systems, promoting quality within all areas of Imaging, meeting accreditation requirements.

The post-holder will promote and facilitate the development of effective governance, safety, risk management, assurance and complaints management systems across the Care Group, this includes being the assistant to the lead specialist in clinical governance, risk management and complaints management for the Care Group.

Acting as the second point of contact for complaints/ concerns within the areas and supporting the Quality / Governance Lead in investigations and the associated responses.


  • Ensure datix incidents are completed in a timely manner with appropriate actions & lessons learnt. Highlighting trends, raising awareness of concerns to the Quality/ Governance Lead.
  • Risk register is reviewed, actions assigned and completed in the allocated time.
  • Investigate complaints, liaising with patients and providing a response & action plan.
  • Work with the Quality/ Governance Lead implementing ISO 9001 across both sites
  • Take an active role in improving patient experience
Be responsible for Health & Safety plus Infection Control across both sites.

Job Summary


To assist the Clinical Governance & Quality Lead with the design & implementation of the Quality Management ISO 9001:2015 and associated IT systems, promoting quality within all areas of Imaging, meeting accreditation requirements.

The post-holder will promote and facilitate the development of effective governance, safety, risk management, assurance and complaints management systems across the Care Group, this includes being the assistant to the lead specialist in clinical governance, risk management and complaints management for the Care Group.

Acting as the second point of contact for complaints/ concerns within the areas and supporting the Clinical Governance & Quality Lead in investigations and the associated responses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring of the Datix incident reporting system, approving incident reports and initiating/undertaking investigations as and where necessary and to the level required by the severity of the
  • Ensure action plans are produced, where necessary, in light of incidents, complaints and claims and that these are completed within the timescales set.
  • Ensure lessons are learned from incidents, complaints and claims, from across the Care Group and the Trust, supporting the Clinical Governance & Quality Lead to ensure that this learning is translated into improvements in practice and patient care.
  • To ensure systems are in place for the implementation, monitoring and review of national standards / external recommendations or reviews (such as CQC or NHSLA, Francis Report).
  • Identify key themes, trends and areas for development arising from incidents and complaints within the Care Group.
  • Assist with preparing governance reports, plans, risk assessments and risk registers and any other relevant documents as required by the Division and the Trust.
  • Assist, as required on behalf of the Care Group, coordinate and lead investigations into Serious Untoward Incidents (SUIs) and monitor delivery of SUI action plans within the agreed timeframes.
  • Deputise for Clinical Governance & Quality Lead and attend appropriate meetings, groups and sub committees when required.
  • Assist Clinical Governance & Quality Lead to ensure the distribution and recording of NPSA Alerts, CAS Alerts, Trust Alerts, and Manufacturers Notices etc. relevant to the Care Group. Assist with timely replies on these to the Trust Clinical Risk
  • Assist with Ensuring there is a programme of internal audits against defined quality performance measures, highlight areas of nonconformity, and ensure that effective immediate and follow up actions are agreed and carried out. Assist with identifying the need for risks to be added to Care Group Risk Register, monitor and ensure actions are completed
